Transfer organizzato, comodo da Como. Hotel con colazione abbondante, camera verso il giardino. Un giorno a Verona, gli altri a nuotare. Niente novità, e andava bene così.

Lisbon, hills, no lift, we knew

Alfama flat, three flights. Host left keys in a box, on time. Tram under the window, loud, part of it. Cooked twice, ate out the rest. A week of walking. No itinerary, which we wanted.

Andalusien-Rundreise. Bus und Guide solide. In Granada das Zimmer deutlich schmaler als auf den Bildern, Koffer blieben im Gang. Rest der Hotels passte. Drei Sterne, nicht weniger.

Maldives, overwater, rain one morning. Boat transfer on time. House reef as described, snorkels a bit scratched. Buffet repeats after day four. We did not book extras. That was the point.

Paris zu zweit, kleines Hotel

Zimmer zum Hof, dafür ruhig. Métro um die Ecke. Keine halbe Stunde Warteschlange am Empfang. Wir haben Museen selbst gebucht, nur Unterkunft und Zug über die Reise. Reichte völlig.

Paris in February, quiet museums

Hotel room tiny, courtyard, no traffic. Metro at the end of the block. We booked the Louvre ourselves. Keys waiting, no lecture at reception. Four days, grey weather, still worth the train.

Thaïlande, beaucoup de routes

Douze jours, vans et vols internes. Hôtels corrects, un climatiseur en panne à Chiang Mai, changé le soir même. Temples et marché, pas de trekking dur. Un peu chargé, on a sauté une matinée.

Vienne, hôtel bruyant le samedi

Marchés beaux, froid sec. Chambre sur rue, samedi soir bars en bas. Bouchons fournis, ça aide. Petit-déjeuner jusqu'à 10h, utile. On a marché, pas de bus touristique.

Vienna, Saturday night was noisy

Room on the street, bars until late Saturday. Earplugs in the drawer, that helped. Markets and a gallery, no tour bus. Breakfast until ten, useful after a late arrival. Four days, not a week.

Thailandia, ritmi stretti

Dodici giorni, zaino sempre pronto. Un volo interno spostato, sms arrivato. Hotel a Bangkok rumoroso sulla strada, Chiang Mai meglio. Cibo di strada, non i tour ristorante. Un giorno lo abbiamo saltato, troppo pieno.

Vier Tage Paris, November, grau und trotzdem gut. Frühstück im Café nebenan günstiger als im Hotel. Schlüsselübergabe ohne Theater. Métro-Tickets lagen bereit, kleine Sache, hat geholfen.

Garda e Verona, distanze oneste

Hotel a Desenzano, non Sirmione, meno caro e più tranquillo. Un giorno a Verona in treno, 40 minuti. Settembre, acqua ancora buona. Cena in albergo una sola sera, il resto in paese.
